Reborn Interior Expands Team to 60 Designers as Singapore Renovation Firm Scales Operations

SINGAPORE – Media OutReach Newswire – 24 August 2026 — Singapore-based interior design and renovation company Reborn Interior Pte. Ltd. has expanded its team to approximately 60 interior designers since its establishment in 2024, as the company develops its residential renovation operations and explores the use of technology in its design and customer engagement processes.

Mr Hengky (founder) of Reborn Interior Pte. Ltd.
Mr Hengky (founder) of Reborn Interior Pte. Ltd.

Founded by Mr. Hengky, Reborn Interior provides residential interior design and renovation services, with an approach centred on understanding homeowners’ requirements before developing design concepts and renovation plans. The company said its growth has also been accompanied by efforts to strengthen project management, customer communication and internal professional standards.

Focus on Customer Communication and Project Management

Renovation projects can involve significant financial commitments for homeowners and require coordination across design, construction, materials and project timelines. Against this backdrop, Reborn Interior has placed emphasis on clearer communication with clients, including discussions around pricing, project timelines and renovation requirements.

The company said its designers begin projects by understanding homeowners’ lifestyles, functional requirements and preferences before developing design proposals. Its project support also includes inspections of workmanship and identification of defects before project completion.

“Growth is meaningful to us because it reflects the trust homeowners have placed in our team,” said Mr. Hengky, Founder of Reborn Interior Pte. Ltd. “As we expand, our priority is to strengthen our standards, develop our people and provide homeowners with greater clarity throughout the renovation process.”

    Developing Professional Standards

As part of its expansion, Reborn Interior is also working towards additional industry-recognised credentials and quality accreditations. The company said these efforts form part of its broader focus on professional standards, compliance and service processes.

Mr. Hengky entered the interior design sector after a career in banking and subsequently developed his knowledge of architecture, space planning, furniture and materials through industry research and visits to manufacturing and furniture hubs in China. These experiences have informed the company’s approach to residential design and product selection.

    Exploring AI-Assisted Design

The company is also exploring the potential application of artificial intelligence within its design workflow. One proposed application would allow homeowners to upload floor plans and receive AI-assisted visualisations during consultations, helping them better understand potential design and renovation options.

Reborn Interior said the technology would be intended to support designers rather than replace them, allowing its team to focus on understanding clients’ requirements and refining design concepts. The proposed application remains part of the company’s future technology plans.

    Investing in People

Alongside its operational expansion, Reborn Interior has placed emphasis on developing its growing team. The company said its founder’s focus includes mentoring less-experienced designers and developing future team leaders as the organisation expands.

Mr. Hengky said his experience managing the company’s growth has shaped an approach centred on resilience, accountability and continuous improvement, with employee development regarded as an important component of sustainable business growth.

    Looking Ahead

Over the next two years, Reborn Interior plans to continue expanding its professional team, pursue additional industry certifications and awards, and further develop its technology capabilities. The company also aims to contribute to discussions around professional standards and customer practices within Singapore’s renovation sector.

  • Chocolate Finance launches Chocolate Business to help companies put idle cash to work

Chocolate Finance launches Chocolate Business to help companies put idle cash to work

SINGAPORE – Media OutReach Newswire – 24 August 2026 – Chocolate Finance will officially launch Chocolate Business Accounts this week at The Business Show Asia 2026, expanding its cash management offering to Singapore businesses just two years after launching its consumer platform.

    How Chocolate Business Works

Chocolate Business is a Cash Managed Account, rather than a corporate bank account or fixed deposit. Most corporate bank accounts offer low interest. Chocolate Business aims to help businesses earn better returns on their cash while keeping it easily accessible when needed.

Walter de Oude, Founder and CEO of Chocolate Finance, said: “Businesses often earn very little on the cash sitting in their bank accounts, and frankly, the returns can be rubbish. We think we can do better. Businesses need their cash available for payroll, suppliers and whatever comes next, but there’s no reason it should sit around earning next to nothing in the meantime. Chocolate Business lets that cash work harder while staying accessible. Business owners have been asking us for this, and to us, it just makes sense.”

The launch comes as Singapore businesses face continued pressure to manage costs and use their available capital more efficiently. A recent industry survey estimated that SMEs lose S$800 million in potential interest each year by leaving idle cash in low-yield accounts, while 45% identified liquidity as a priority.

Chocolate Business gives businesses an alternative way to manage the cash that they do not immediately need for daily operations, without committing it to a fixed tenure. The launch also marks Chocolate Finance’s expansion beyond its original consumer offering. Since launching two years ago, the company has grown to approximately S$1.6 billion in assets under management and more than 150,000 customers.

Key features of Chocolate Business include:

    • Returns on business cash: Businesses can currently enjoy 1.5% p.a. on their first S$300,000, supported by the Chocolate Top-Up Programme during the qualifying period, and up to 1.5% p.a. on amounts above that.
    • No lock-ins: Businesses can request withdrawals at any time, with no fixed tenure, withdrawal charges or penalties.
    • Daily visibility: Business owners can track their account balance and returns each day through the dedicated Chocolate Business app.
    • No Fees: Chocolate Finance makes money only after it has met its target return.

Businesses can add funds to their accounts via FAST transfers or PayNow. There is no minimum or maximum deposit requirement, while withdrawals typically take between one and two business days, depending on the amount.

Chocolate Finance will be showcasing its suite of solutions at booth 220 during The Business Show Asia on 26 and 27 August 2026 at Sands Expo and Convention Centre. New business account sign-ups at the show can enjoy a special welcome reward.

The Chocolate Business app is available now to download via the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Indigo Education Group Expands Bukit Timah Centre Amid Rising Tuition Demand Nationwide

The expansion follows a 65 per cent year-on-year rise in enrolment at the centre, mirroring nationwide growth in tuition demand.

SINGAPORE –Media OutReach Newswire – 24 August 2026 – Indigo Education Group, a Ministry of Education (MOE)-registered tuition provider, has expanded its Bukit Timah centre to 13 fully equipped classrooms, effective 17 August 2026, in response to a 65 per cent year-on-year increase in enrolment and growing demand for its programmes.

Indigo Education Group Expands Bukit Timah Centre Amid Rising Tuition Demand Nationwide
Indigo Education Group Expands Bukit Timah Centre Amid Rising Tuition Demand Nationwide

Enrolment at Indigo’s Bukit Timah centre grew to 622 students in 2026 from 377 in 2025, which prompted the addition of classrooms, and now brings the centre’s total capacity close to that of its flagship Balmoral Plaza tuition centre. Established in 2011 and operating six centres across Singapore, the group noted that the expansion allows it to keep pace with rising enrolment applications without reducing class support standards or turning applicants away.

    Nationwide Growth in Tuition Demand

Indigo’s rise in enrolment follows a broader pattern of growing tuition demand across Singapore. According to the Singapore Department of Statistics’ Household Expenditure Survey 2023, released in November 2024, families in Singapore spent S$1.8 billion on private tuition in 2023, up from S$1.4 billion in 2018 and S$1.1 billion in 2013. Average household spending on tuition also rose to S$104.80 per month, with households in the top 20 per cent income bracket spending S$162.60 monthly, more than four times the S$36.30 spent by households in the bottom 20 per cent.

Demand from the Bukit Timah School Cluster

The decision to expand the Bukit Timah outlet was also led by the district’s dense concentration of Integrated Programme (IP) schools and Junior Colleges (JC), including Hwa Chong Institution (HCI), National Junior College (NJC), Nanyang Girls’ High School (NYGH) and Methodist Girls’ School (MGS).

Indigo expressed that the district’s demographic profile and its proximity to these institutions have driven sustained demand for its programmes, particularly its IP Mathematics and JC General Paper (GP) tuition, taught under the Indigo Pedagogy™ methodology by faculty deans and specialist tutors.

With IP, Secondary Express (G3) and JC syllabi differing significantly across schools, the additional classrooms give the group room to run a broader range of targeted classes across more time slots, helping students with demanding academic schedules find sessions that fit both their school syllabus and personal availability.

The scaling of the Bukit Timah centre reflects Indigo’s broader approach of systematically expanding capacity across Singapore’s key educational precincts as tuition demand grows. The group has indicated it will continue to align capacity decisions across its six centres with the composition of surrounding school clusters, ensuring students maintain access to programmes matched to their school syllabus and academic levels.

  • 40 Teams Gather in Hong Kong to Compete in the "AI x Cybersecurity Challenge"

40 Teams Gather in Hong Kong to Compete in the "AI x Cybersecurity Challenge"

Autonomous AI Attack-and-Defence Demonstrates Next-Generation Cybersecurity Talent and Advance Regional Digital Security Talent Development

HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach Newswire – 23 August 2026 – The AI x Cybersecurity Challenge, jointly organised by the Digital Policy Office of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, the Chinese Academy of Cyberspace Studies, the Hong Kong Cybersecurity Professional Association, and China Mobile Hong Kong Company Limited, and co-organised by Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited, the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau of the Hong Kong Police Force, the Hong Kong Productivity Council, Venustech Group Inc., and Hong Kong Cloud Peak Technology Co., Limited, held the Finals today.

Following a 12-hour online qualifying round, a total of 40 teams advanced to the Final Competition, including 20 teams from the Chinese Mainland, 18 from Hong Kong, and two from overseas regions. The Challenge adopts an innovative AI-Driven Dual (AID) competition format, in which artificial intelligence (AI) executes the competition and enables autonomous defence by AI agents. Teams of up to three members showcase their capabilities in leveraging AI technologies for automated vulnerability discovery and exploitation, competing for total prize money of HK$180,000.

The event brings together representatives from Government, industry, academia and research organisations to witness the latest developments in AI-powered cybersecurity innovation. Officiating guests at the Opening Ceremony included Professor SUN Dong, JP, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, Mr LI Shuguang, Director-General of the General Office of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR, Mr WANG Jiang, Director-General of the Chinese Academy of Cyberspace Studies, Mr Daniel CHEUNG, JP, Acting Commissioner for Digital Policy, Mr WANG Minwei, Deputy Director of the Cyberspace Administration of Guangdong Province, Dr Rocky CHENG, JP, President of the Hong Kong Cybersecurity Professional Association, and Ms SHI Xiaoping, Director and Chief Executive Officer of China Mobile Hong Kong Company Limited.

In his opening remarks, the Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, Professor Sun Dong, said that AI is reshaping every aspect of people’s life at a breathtaking speed. He noted that although innovation may at times bring new threats, these same technologies can also spur defensive capabilities. As such, the Government champions an “AI versus AI” strategy, leveraging AI to forge the strongest shields to effectively manage risks associated with the use of AI.

Professor Sun added that the Government is continuously strengthening related policies, guidelines and ethical frameworks, as well as conducting regular cyber-attack-and-defence drills to better prepare for cybersecurity readiness. Through multi-pronged efforts, the Government hopes to guide society to apply AI responsibly, foster a healthy ecosystem, and strengthen city-wide resilience in face of cyber attacks.

Addressing AI-Era Cybersecurity Challenges Through Talent Development

The rapid advancement of AI is reshaping the global cybersecurity landscape. AI has evolved from a supporting tool for security analysis and threat monitoring into a technology capable of autonomously constructing attack chains and bypassing existing defence mechanisms. This has significantly lowered the technical barriers to cyberattacks, making sophisticated attack techniques more automated and accessible. Threat actors can leverage AI for intelligent vulnerability discovery, automated penetration testing, and even the creation of highly convincing deepfake content, enabling stealthier and more persistent cyberattacks.

As emerging threats such as model security risks, data poisoning, model theft, phishing attacks, supply chain vulnerabilities and automated exploitation continue to evolve, the demand for interdisciplinary talent with expertise in both AI and cybersecurity is becoming increasingly urgent. In response, the organisers aim to promote the practical application of AI technologies through this hands-on competition while cultivating a new generation of cybersecurity professionals equipped with cross-disciplinary expertise.

    AI-Driven Attack-and-Defence Competition Platform

Unlike traditional Capture the Flag (CTF) competitions, this year’s Challenge adopts an innovative AI-Driven (AID) competition format. Participating teams leverage AI-powered automated systems to analyse the competition environment provided by the organisers, identify vulnerabilities and exploit them. The automated capabilities of the AI agents include information gathering, vulnerability discovery and flag submission. The competition environment incorporates both vulnerabilities found in real-world scenarios and simulated zero-day vulnerabilities that may exist in software systems.

The challenge design draws on concepts from international cybersecurity competitions and incorporates practical operating scenarios as well as simulated zero-day attack-and-defence environments, testing participants’ ability to apply AI technologies to real-world cybersecurity challenges. The Challenge aims to enhance participants’ practical attack-and-defence experience and innovation capabilities, promote the research and application of AI security technologies, and nurture a new generation of cybersecurity talent equipped with both strategic vision and practical expertise. Through these efforts, the competition seeks to strengthen capabilities in addressing AI-driven cyber threats.

Government, Industry, Academia and Research Communities Join Forces to Advance AI Security

This year’s Challenge brings together stakeholders from government, industry and research institutions to drive innovation in AI security technologies, strengthen cybersecurity capabilities and cultivate future talent.

Mr Wang Jiang, Director-General of the Chinese Academy of Cyberspace Studies, said, “AI technologies are reshaping the global cyber attack-and-defence landscape. While they lower the barriers to cyberattacks, they also drive the evolution of security protection from reactive response to proactive and intelligent defence. In this technological contest, using technology to counter technology has become an inevitable trend. By focusing on practical AI attack-and-defence capabilities, this competition aims to identify emerging talent and contribute to building a more trustworthy and intelligent cyberspace.”

Medical Inflation Drives Up Group Medical Insurance Costs Blue Cross Upgrades Caring Medical Protection Plus to Address Coverage Gaps

Enhancing Employees’ Access to Extensive, Affordable and Continuous Protection

HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach Newswire – 23 August 2026 – As medical costs continue to rise, businesses are facing increasing pressure to provide medical benefits for their employees. According to Health Trends 2026, Hong Kong’s medical trend rate is projected to reach 10.5% this year*. Research by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University also indicates that the average premium per employee for group medical insurance is expected to exceed HK$10,000 this year#, reflecting the growing pressure on employers to balance adequate coverage with cost control. In view of this growing concern, Blue Cross (Asia-Pacific) Insurance Limited (“Blue Cross”) has announced the launch of the upgraded Caring Medical Protection Plus plan. Designed for existing Blue Cross group medical insurance members, the plan helps address coverage gaps and enhance continuity of protection.

Three optional benefits enhance individual and family protection

The upgraded Caring Medical Protection Plus is designed specifically for employees insured under Blue Cross group medical insurance plans, enabling them to enhance their existing coverage at an affordable premium and extend protection to their spouse and children. The plan also allows the insured to maintain continuous coverage even when they change jobs or retire.

In addition to Basic Hospital and Surgical Benefits, the upgraded plan offers three optional benefits to meet customers’ different needs: Optional Outpatient Benefits, Optional Dental Benefits and the newly introduced Optional Supplementary Medical Benefit. These benefits cover common medical expenses, including consultations with general practitioners, specialists, Chinese medicine practitioners and physiotherapists, as well as dental fillings and extractions. Whether for optional supplementary medical benefit, outpatient medical services at non-network clinics or dental treatments1 (such as fillings and extractions), 80% of eligible expenses will be reimbursed, with customers only bearing the remaining 20%. Moreover, no network co-payment is required for selected plan levels under the Optional Outpatient Benefits when customers use in-network providers, helping to reduce out-of-pocket expenses.

Other key features of the plan include:

    • Simple enrolment: Except under certain circumstances, no underwriting is required2, eliminating the need for medical examinations and lengthy procedures. Pre-existing conditions are also covered3,4,5. The plan may be renewed annually6 with coverage until age 100.
    • Worldwide medical coverage: Basic Hospital and Surgical Benefits are applicable worldwide7, and the corresponding benefit limits remain unchanged.
    • Cashless arrangement for gastroscopy and colonoscopy day procedures8.
    • Value-added services to enhance healthcare experience: Customers may purchase additional services according to their needs, including access to the Mainland Healthcare Network9, Pre-Assessment Service, Cashless Service10 and 24-Hour Worldwide Emergency Aid Service.

From now until 31 December 2026, existing Blue Cross group medical insurance members who successfully enrol in Caring Medical Protection Plus will be eligible for Enrolment Rewards +. These include premiums at up to 19% off^ and a limited-time waiver of the designated enrolment period, allowing eligible customers to enrol at any time. Customers who enrol in a designated premium amount@ will also receive Hong Kong Disneyland tickets and supermarket coupons valued at up to HK$1,000.

Expanding medical networks and support services

To further enhance the healthcare experience for customers, Blue Cross continues to expand its medical network in the Greater Bay Area (“GBA”). Last year, it partnered with United Family Healthcare, Hong Kong Integrated Oncology Centre and HEAL Oncology under New Frontier Group, as well as Zhongshan Chen Xinghai Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, to create a healthcare ecosystem in the GBA. The network offers direct billing services and supports customers through different stages of the healthcare journey, from prevention and diagnosis to treatment and recovery.

In June this year, Blue Cross launched its Musculoskeletal Care Support Service in collaboration with multiple healthcare institutions in Hong Kong and the GBA, including U Care, CUHK Medical Centre, Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong, Shenzhen New Frontier United Family Hospital and CORES Physiotherapy & Sports Training Centre. Guided by a dedicated Health Concierge, customers receive one-stop support throughout their healthcare journey from diagnosis to surgery and rehabilitation, improving treatment outcomes and overall experience.

    Promoting public awareness of protection

In addition, Blue Cross continues to promote public awareness of the importance of protection through different community touchpoints. Recently, it extended this initiative to an everyday essential by distributing limited-edition eco-friendly tissue packs free of charge at selected restaurants and clinics across Hong Kong. Each tissue pack contains a “Words of Wisdom” card featuring practical tips on healthcare, daily living, holiday planning, and vehicle maintenance. Members of the public can also scan the QR code on the card to get a limited-time premium discount of up to 35% on general insurance products.
